CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children are an active and vital part of the ministry at St. Simons Presbyterian Church. Below are a few of the regular opportunities for children's faith development and service in our congregation.

Narnia Book Club

Beginning Monday, January 23rd
  • Day: Mondays
  • Time: 4:30-5:30PM
  • Place: Frosty's on SSI

Join Ms. Frieda for the Narnia book club, a magical journey for all readers! We will begin with the first book in the Chronicles, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Books are available in the church office for $5 or through Frieda.

KidZ Crew

Register for KidZ Crew Here!
Days: Every Wednesday During the School Year
Time: 4-6PM
Who: Grades Preschool - 5th
Where: Meet to Veranda (next to playground)

Join us for KidZ Crew where children come together as friends in Christ!  During KidZ Crew, we learn together, play together, pray together, serve together, sing together and worship together. Together,we can stir up one another to love. (Heb 10:24)
 
KidZ Crew & Choir is led by the Director of Children’s Ministry and the Children’s Choir Director as well as adult and youth volunteers.  
 
Parents may check their children in on the Veranda by the playground at 4pm and return by 6 for pick up.  KidZ Crew is followed by our Wednesday Night Suppers at 6pm in the Social Hall.  All are invited!

KidZ Fellowship & Dinner

Days: One Sunday a Month 
Time: 5-6:30PM
Who: Children grades 3rd - 5th
Where: Meet to Veranda (next to playground)

Older elementary children meet for fellowship, fun and faith activities. Dinner begins at 6pm in the Britt Room.  KidZ Fellowship is led by the Director of Children’s Ministry.

SUNDAY MORNING FOR CHILDREN

Nursery/Toddler (Beginning)
Location: Children’s Hall/Nursery
Begin your toddler on a journey of faith! Using the Instant Bible Lessons for Nursery, our nursery staff will surround your child with faithful music, visuals, activities and love.  Jesus Loves Me this I Know!


Preschool/PreK (Growing)
Location:  Children’s Hall
Location: Children’s Hall/KidZ Preschool
Focus that Preschool energy and curiosity on God and His Word!  By using age appropriate Bibles, books, games, play, creativity, music and visuals, your preschooler will begin forming their spiritual foundation …watch them Grow in faith!


K–5th Grade (Building)
Location:  Children’s Hall

Build the blocks of faith during the elementary school years! The Revised Common Lectionary Feasting on the Word curriculum connects Sunday School to Worship by using a common Bible passage. By exploring the stories of the Bible in creative and active ways, children will piece together God’s One Big Story and how they are a part of His Story.

SPECIAL CHILDREN'S MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

KidZ Book Clubs
Various times :: Ages 9-12
Children meet at a local café to discuss a selected book.  Previous books include The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Wrinkle in Time, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Secret Garden.

Vacation Bible School
Takes place each June  ::  Grades PreK-5
Registration will begin online each Spring & is open to visitors!
Vacation Bible School

Worship & Art Camp
Various weeks during Summer :: Grades K-5
Worship & Art is a unique summer camp!  Children worship together then engage in different forms of art led by local professional artists and the Director of Children’s Ministry.  Past themes have included How Great Thou Art; Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee; All Things Bright and Beautiful. Arts offered have been painting, photography, drama, music, science and cooking.  Each summer promises new exciting themes and art experiences! Registration will open during the Spring.
