Children are an active and vital part of the ministry at St. Simons Presbyterian Church. Below are a few of the regular opportunities for children's faith development and service in our congregation.

Dara Pickren-Davis Director of Children and Family Ministry
Dara brings nearly two decades of experience in church ministry, serving congregations across coastal Georgia and northeast Florida. She has a deep love for children, families, and creative ministry, with a special passion for formative experiences like Vacation Bible School, Fall Festivals, and Christmas celebrations.
With a background in music, theatre, and education, Dara has spent years nurturing young people—from toddlers to college students—both in church and classroom settings. Her ministry is grounded in faith, creativity, and grace, reflected in her favorite verse, Ephesians 2:8: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it is the gift of God.” Dara and her husband, Howard, have been married for 22 years and have three children—Hall, Ella, and Allie. As a family, they love to travel and explore, and Dara especially enjoys photography and adventure. |

KIDZ CREW
Resumes January 14, 2026
Days: Every Wednesday During the School Year Time: 4-6PM Who: Grades Preschool - 5th Where: Meet to Veranda (next to playground) Join us for KidZ Crew where children come together as friends in Christ! During KidZ Crew, we learn together, play together, pray together, serve together, sing together and worship together. Together,we can stir up one another to love. (Heb 10:24) KidZ Crew & Choir is led by the Director of Children’s Ministry and the Children’s Choir Director as well as adult and youth volunteers. Parents may check their children in on the Veranda by the playground at 4pm and return by 6 for pick up. KidZ Crew is followed by our Wednesday Night Suppers at 6pm in the Social Hall. All are invited! |

KIDZ FELLOWSHIP & DINNER
Days: One Sunday a Month
Time: 5-6:30PM Who: Children grades 3rd - 5th Where: Meet to Veranda (next to playground) Spring 2026 Dates TBD SIGN UP BELOW FOR UPDATES FROM FRIEDA ON DATES AND TIMES FOR KIDZ FELLOWSHIP! Older elementary children meet for fellowship, fun and faith activities. Dinner begins at 6pm in the Britt Room. KidZ Fellowship is led by the Director of Children’s Ministry. |

KIDZ ENSEMBLE
Lead by Rhonda Hambright Days: One Sunday a Month Time: 4-5PM Who: Children grades 3rd - 5th Where: Music Attic If you are a third through fifth grader this year, you are invited to come to the Music Attic at 4:00 pm before KidZ Fellowship and continue (or begin) your experiences with Orff instruments, handbells, drums, and all kinds of other instruments. “Body, Spirit, Mind, and Voice – it takes the whole person to sing and rejoice!” is a quote from Helen Kemp, a noted children’s music teacher. Note: We will decide as a group whether to meet once per month or every week. |

Begin your toddler on a journey of faith! Using the Instant Bible Lessons for Nursery, our nursery staff will surround your child with faithful music, visuals, activities and love. Jesus Loves Me this I Know!
Preschool/PreK (Growing)
Location: Children’s Hall/KidZ Preschool
Focus that Preschool energy and curiosity on God and His Word! By using age appropriate Bibles, books, games, play, creativity, music and visuals, your preschooler will begin forming their spiritual foundation …watch them Grow in faith!
K–5th Grade (Building)
Location: Children’s Hall
Build the blocks of faith during the elementary school years! The Revised Common Lectionary Feasting on the Word curriculum connects Sunday School to Worship by using a common Bible passage. By exploring the stories of the Bible in creative and active ways, children will piece together God’s One Big Story and how they are a part of His Story.
