SUNDAY MORNING FOR CHILDREN

We value the spiritual growth and development of all God's children.  We also realize that children learn and worship differently, so we offer several ways to help our children be comfortable as they learn, worship, and come to know the love of God.

Questions or need more information?
Contact Becca Turner, Nursery Director

NURSERY & EDUCATION

Nursery  (Open from 8:30am-12:00pm)
Ages 0-5
The nursery offers a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 0-5. Our nursery is located in our children's building, towards the back of the church. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the nursery with enough time to help their children transition into the nursery, so that parents can have the time to enter the sanctuary ready to worship God. During the worship services, children receive care and attention. Those who are old enough also receive a small Bible lesson because we believe that children are never too young to learn that God loves them!

Children's Chapel
Preschool to 2nd grade
Happening every Sunday except communion Sundays (usually the first Sunday of every month), Children's Chapel offers older children an opportunity to continue learning and growing in their faith through age appropriate worship. Kidz Worship also serves as a bridge to help children as they begin to transition into the Sanctuary as full-time worshippers.

Nursery Policy
St. Simons Presbyterian takes seriously the privilege and responsibility of caring for our children. Volunteers, staff, and parents are all required to review and abide by the nursery policy. A copy of the nursery policy is available in the nursery.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

At what point do children leave worship?
Children leave for Children's Chapel after the "Word for Children" which usually happens about half way through the regular worship service.
Where do children go when they leave the Sanctuary?
Our Children's Ministry staff and volunteers lead the children to the "Children's Ministry Hall," which is located  towards the rear of the facility through the gym/social hall.
What if I prefer my children to remain in worship with me?
That is absolutely fine! Children of all ages are welcome to participate in the children's programming or remain with their family in worship.
Are children welcome to receive Communion?
Communion happens the first Sunday of every month at SSPC and is one of the most interactive parts of our worship together. There is something special in taking communion as a family along with your child. Nursery is available until age 5, but beyond that age, we want your child to learn to love worship and this may begin at the Lord’s Table. It brings joy to our hearts to see our youngest disciples taking communion with the rest of the church.
