“Social distancing” prevented us from getting together as a church family and, frankly, we missed being together. Some of us felt isolated. It was through this deep need for connection that the Hands and Heart ministry was born. By making and delivering lap blankets to members of SSPC in their time of need, the Hands and Heart ministry has found a way to remind people that they are cared for by their church family and linked together by love.
If you would like to participate in making lap blankets, please provide the following information below.
What is a lap blanket?: A lap quilt can be made of fabric squares or it can be knitted or crocheted. The final product is designed to cover a person’s lap or legs. It is normally 36-48” along each side when finished although it can be 45-60” W x 65-76” L.
