SSPC preschool

ABOUT

The preschool at St. Simons Presbyterian provides a safe and fun learning environment for children. It is the objective of our program to provide high quality education in a Christian atmosphere. We consider the development of the whole child to be our primary goal. Children will explore and discover through hands-on experiences, develop positive self-concepts, learn to follow directions, build self-confidence, accept responsibility and become more independent.

Two Year Old Program
Children must be age two by September 1st to be eligible for the preschool program.  Two-year-olds will spend time in play situations that provide opportunities for exploration, experimentation and manipulation. Through play, children will learn to interact with peers, problem solve and develop their imaginations and creativity. Children will also participate in structured activities such as circle time, chapel, music and art. Socialization skills such as sharing and getting along with others are primary goals for two year olds.

Three Year Old Program
Children must be age three by September 1st to be eligible for the preschool program. One three year old class may be offered which meets Monday through Friday. The primary goal for three year olds is to help each child develop his or her potential as an individual and as a group member. This is accomplished by providing an environment in which he or she can be stimulated and challenged with activities that develop gross and fine motor coordination, visual perception and the ability to reason and communicate. Our comprehensive curriculum includes structured enrichment classes such as Chapel, music and a children's physical education program.
