Since 1999, the PAL Mentoring Program has been sending St. Simons Presbyterian Church members to Altama and Goodyear elementary schools to mentor students. We will pair volunteers with an elementary school child who would benefit from an adult friend who reads with them. This requires meeting with your mentee once a week at their school and taking them to the library to read and talk. You might be the only person who ever reads with your mentee in their whole life – ever! Mentoring a child in need is truly doing the work of God's kingdom in our community. As Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Please sign up below to be a part of this important and meaningful work!
(A background check will be required to volunteer. Details will be given on completing this process upon sign up.)
