A Day Trip to Okefenokee Swamp
With BRIDGE Missions & Try Something New The Try Something New Group and BRIDGE are partnering together to offer a fun and informative two-part program on the Okefenokee. First, anyone that is interested can meet in the Upper Room on Wednesday, March 16 at 5:00 PM where Stephanie Chewning will give an informative presentation on the Okefenokee Swamp and its history. Then, on Tuesday, March 22, we will offer a trip to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge where we will experience the Okefenokee in all its glory, in person. We will leave early (7:00 AM) from SSPC and will travel by Church Van and personal vehicles to the Folkston entrance of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge (ONWR). From there we will enjoy a scenic 90 minute boat tour followed by a Wildlife Drive to several stops including the Chesser Homestead. We will finish with a late lunch at the Okefenokee Restaurant in Folkston and return home by about 4:00 PM. The cost for the boat tour is $30.00 per person. Ambulatory Clause: Because there is a lot of walking involved, we must insist that you can walk unassisted for approximately one mile. What you need to know for the tour:
