MUSIC FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH

A graded educational music program is available for Children (Pre-K through 5th grade.) Musical skills are learned through scriptural songs and music games. From learning to sing songs, how to ring chimes, how to play percussion instruments, how to conduct, and acting out bible stories in musicals, our young people are prepared to join the Adult Choir during their senior year or upon graduation from high school.

CHILDREN'S CHOIRS
Wednesdays During the School Year

Cherub Choir  //  Preschoolers
Wednesdays @ 5:30PM in the Music Attic (meet on the playground at 4PM to sign in for KidZ Crew.)
The Cherub Choir is our youngest group of choristers. It is a training choir that sings only occasionally in worship. Steady beat, singing on pitch with words in a group, and clapping or tapping rhythms are skills learned in this choir. Early training and exposure to music is the key to a life long love of the art. Children 3 through 5 years old are welcome in this choir.
Seraphim Choir  //  Grades K-2
Wednesdays @ 5PM in the Music Attic (meet on the playground at 4PM to sign in for KidZ Crew.)
The Seraphim Choir is the next step in learning to sing and play rhythm instruments that will prepare them for ringing chimes in the next age group.  This choir joins with either the Cherub Choir or the Angel Choir to sing in worship.  Taking part in musicals in the Advent season or in the Spring is another way these children learn the stories of the Bible.
Angel Choir & Chimes  //  Grades 3-5
Wednesdays @ 4PM in the Music Attic (meet on the playground at 4PM to sign in for KidZ Crew.)
The Angel Choir plays chimes and sings in worship several times throughout the year.  This choir has opportunities to read scripture in church and act on stage in the Christmas play or in the annual Spring musical.

CHILDREN'S MUSICAL THEATRE

Usually on the second Sunday of Advent, the children participate in leading worship or they present a Christmas play during the Sunday School hour.  In the Spring as an end to programming for the school year, K-5th graders treat the congregation to a Musical Dinner Theater based on bible stories in the Social Hall.
