MUSIC FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH

A graded educational music program is available for Children (Pre-K through 5th grade.) Musical skills are learned through scriptural songs and music games. From learning to sing songs, how to ring chimes, how to play percussion instruments, how to conduct, and acting out bible stories in musicals, our young people are prepared to join the Adult Choir during their senior year or upon graduation from high school.

ENSEMBLES

YOUTH ENSEMBLE
Lead by Rhonda Hambright

BEGINNING SUNDAY, AUGUST 27 2023!

Every Sunday @ 5PM (Fall-Spring)  |  Music Attic

This group will meet in the Music Attic at 5:00 pm on Sundays before Youth Fellowship, beginning August 27th.  We will discover our music abilities through games, hands on experiences, and worship opportunities.  Each person’s gift is important that comes to this weekly experiment. We find in Psalm 116 the verse “What can I bring to the Lord?” Music is one of the powerful gifts that you can practice and offer in thanksgiving for what was given to you at birth.

KIDZ ENSEMBLE
Lead by Rhonda Hambright

Days: One Sunday a Month
Time: 4-5PM
Who: Children grades 3rd - 5th
Where: Music Attic

If you are a third through fifth grader this year, you are invited to come to the Music Attic at 4:00 pm before KidZ Fellowship and continue (or begin) your experiences with Orff instruments, handbells, drums, and all kinds of other instruments.

“Body, Spirit, Mind, and Voice – it takes the whole person to sing and rejoice!” is a quote from Helen Kemp, a noted children’s music teacher.

Note: We will decide as a group whether to meet once per month or every week.
CHILDREN'S MUSICAL THEATRE

Usually on the second Sunday of Advent, the children participate in leading worship or they present a Christmas play during the Sunday School hour.  In the Spring as an end to programming for the school year, K-5th graders treat the congregation to a Musical Dinner Theater based on bible stories in the Social Hall.
