The church officers of St. Simons Presbyterian are lay members who guide the life and faith of the congregation. There are twenty-one ruling elders who serve on the 'Session' and twenty-one deacons who serve on the 'Diaconate.' One-third of each group of officers rotates off each year; in the fall each year, nominating committees present slates of proposed officers to the church members, who elect the new officers. SSPC is one of approximately 40 Presbyterian churches in the Savannah Presbytery (covering southeast Georgia).
