Hands & Heart Ministry

Hands & Heart Ministry

Linked Together by Love

The Hands & Heart Ministry brings together skilled hands and willing hearts to create warmth and comfort for our community. We meet regularly to sew, knit, and crochet, sharing fellowship while serving others.

Our handmade lap blankets are symbols of God's embrace, given to those facing illness, loss, or difficult transitions. Each stitch represents a prayer for the recipient, ensuring they feel the care of their church family.

Sonshine for the Soul

A Congregational Care Ministry

Interested in bringing a little of God’s sunshine to someone’s day?

Sonshine for the Soul is a ministry at St. Simons Presbyterian Church that focuses on residents in skilled care/long-term nursing and hospice care. All are welcome to join!

  • The recipients are church members and a few designated others at Magnolia Manor who have no family/friend connections.
  • The committee gathers the 3rd Friday at 4:00 PM at the church to plan how we can bring a little of God’s sunshine to their day through small gifts and cards of love from SSPC.
  • Once a month, teams deliver these gifts and try to spend a short time visiting with recipients face-to-face, if possible.
  • The ministry also hopes to coordinate visitation with the same resident over time to create a more personal connection and help keep them informed and involved with their church family.
  • Please fill out the ministry form below if you are interested or have questions!

DETAILS

  • When: Third Wednesday of Every Month

  • Time: 1:15PM

  • Place: John Law Room

Meal Ministry

One way to offer our Christian love and care is by providing a warm meal to our family and friends in Christ during their time of need.

If you would like to receive occasional emails with options to provide a meal for friends from time-to-time, please register below!

On the other end, if you or someone you know could use some help with meals, don't hesitate to reach out! We're here for you.

Muffin Ministry

Baked with Love & Delivered with Care

In lieu of a meal, we'd like to offer an unexpected, not pre-arranged sweet treat from the church, such as muffins or cookies. To surprise these folks with a half-dozen muffins or a dozen cookies might bring a smile to their face and remind them that they are not forgotten by their church family.

This muffin ministry will not replace the meals but be a sporadic request as members' needs arise. If you know of anyone who enjoys baking and would like to join on, please let me know. If you like to bake but would prefer not to deliver, that's fine as we have people who like to deliver and not bake!

Interested in participating or have questions? Contact the congregational care team below and someone will get in touch ASAP!

Flower Ministry

On the second and fourth Sundays of the month, Flower Ministry volunteers, with the chancel flower donor's permission, will breakdown the flowers into smaller arrangements to deliver to church members and nursing homes to brighten their day!

If you would like to help with breakdown and/or delivery, please signup below and someone will be in touch soon with more details.
