Savannah Presbytery's 39th Annual
Leadership Development Conference
February 16-17, 2018

Since 1979 Savannah Presbytery has hosted a Training Event for members of the Church, now called the Leadership Development Conference. The event takes place each February at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island, GA. We have enjoyed outstanding keynote leadership and many splendid workshop leaders from within our presbytery! The Leadership Development Conference is for pastors, clerks, elders, deacons, treasurers, youth leaders, Sunday school teachers, choir directors, Christian Educators and anyone committed to the church of Jesus Christ.

2018 Conference Theme: "The Tree of Life"
The wisdom literature of ancient Israel (Proverbs, Job, and Ecclesiastes) invites us into an age-old and enduring conversation about what is good and wise in life. How do we discern right from wrong in a world of complex and competing claims? What values do we treasure and why? What makes for strong families and just communities? What cultivates empathy and motivates acts of kindness? How do we understand money, the power of speech, the realities of suffering, and the inevitability of death? And how do we teach it all to our children? Through the particular lens of the book of Proverbs, this study explores how the ancient Israelite sages wrestled with such questions, the formation of moral character, and what it means to "fear the Lord."
