Recently established, the Barnabas Society honors members and friends who have named SSPC in their wills and/or other estate plans. These end-of-life gifts will strengthen the witness of this congregation and sustain its mission for years to come. Barnabas, “Son of Encouragement,” recognized harvest giving and sold his only piece of land, giving the proceeds to the apostles for distribution to the needy in the early Christian community in Judea (Acts 4:36-37). Likewise, the Barnabas Society provides an opportunity to share God’s harvest in your life with others through estate planning, life insurance proceeds, and wills.

The seeds from your life’s harvest, planted in the prepared and fertile ground at St. Simons Presbyterian Church, can produce opportunities for God’s love to reach out to countless others extending into future generations.

To be enrolled in the Barnabas Society, you simply notify the church finance office by phone or in person that you have named SSPC in your estate plans, and no details or amounts need to be shared. Gifts of any size are welcome. If you don’t want to change any other terms of your will, a simple codicil to your will can name the church as a beneficiary. Your gifts will make a difference!
