Caring Casserole Program
The purpose of our Caring Casserole (CC) Program is to
provide a healthy meal to church members, their families, or friends of
our congregation including those who are home bound, ill, are
celebrating a new baby, those who are hurting, or just to welcome
someone to our church and community or say thank you for your service.
Visiting someone? Feel free to take them a meal or take one for yourself
or family. Church staff & members will deliver frozen meals on care
visits.
Our children
worked hard to make some casseroles. Here's proof:

HOW YOU CAN
HELP
To Give A Meal:
-
Go online
to the “Give A Meal” section on the Gathered in Love website under
“SSPC SSI” at
www.ekklesion.com or call Saundra Hathaway at 638-1786 or
e-mail.
-
Use ONLY
disposable pans.
-
Consider
giving restricted diet meals (vegetarian, low fat, no nuts or mayo,
low sodium, etc.). We need meals that serve 2, 4, 6, 10 or more
people (sample recipes and web links provided below).
-
LABEL
(securely) ALL meals with date food made & frozen; ALL ingredients;
thawing & baking instructions; & number of servings.
-
Take
casseroles or main dish meals to church and store in kitchen freezer
on shelf labeled “CC Casseroles” during church service hours or
church office hours.
-
Go to drawer in church kitchen near telephone marked
“CC Casserole Labels,” peel off a pre-made label with message from
our church & Bible quote, and place on top of the meal you brought
before storing it in freezer.
To Take A Meal:
-
Choose
any size or type of meal needed, more than one can be taken at a
time, such as for a week. If taking meals for multiple days, please
just write in the number of meals on the line with the name.
-
Please
take one moment to complete the sign out sheet located in the drawer
in the kitchen near telephone marked “CC Casserole Labels.” Put in
the name of person or family getting a meal(s) (does not have to be
a member of the SSPC congregation), date, & your initials—this is
only so 10 people don’t deliver to the same family in one day.
Thank you
for your faith and service!
